Our world today faces many challenges. We are beginning to experience the impacts of pollution and how industrialization has shaped our planet’s climate. Political polarization has caused relationships to end and divided many against each other. Wars and activities of violence violating international humanitarian law are growing. The state of the world may be depressing to you, yet there is another way can look at this: An opportunity to do more good.
If there were no issues in the world, there would be no reason to do good. It is because of anger, violence and aggression that it becomes necessary for us to live and grow in peace, contentment and compassion. The most important thing we can do each day is consider the qualities we want exhibited through our lives. It is the qualities of peace, understanding, empathy, generosity, kindness and respect for basic human decency that will create a brighter future for our children to experience.
May we find hope in the good available for us to do today.
